[0:58] JJ: So now that you've created a specific situation, I can tell you, honestly, I am a little, now that we're doing more trivia episodes now, and I feel like stakes are getting raised, more elements are being thrown at me, there is a certain amount of added pressure that I'm feeling, even right now, before we get into it, because there's this part of me, even on the second trivia, I set myself so high that I've got nowhere else to go but down, and I feel like every trivia that we've done, I continue to go down.

[6:00] JJ: Oh, yeah.

[6:01] Tara Llewellyn: That'd be so much fun. So my friend, Haley, and I, we host a podcast called Gilmore to Say because we had more to say about Gilmore Girls.

[6:05] JJ: Nice.

[6:08] Tara Llewellyn: And we met on TikTok. And it was kind of fate that brought us together. Well, it was like internet fate that brought us together because who can't connect these days over the internet. And we were both talking about Gilmore Girls on TikTok, and just so happened to kind of continuously get tagged in each other's posts, which was really fun and a compliment because she's a she's just, she made me think about this show that I've been watching for, you know, 20 plus years of my life in a very different light than I had before.

[6:36] JJ: That's awesome.

[6:36] Tara Llewellyn: And so to kind of connect with her in that way, and then use it as a means to one day knock on her door and be like, Hey, do you want to start a podcast together? And her be like, Yeah, sure, you're a complete stranger, but fine, let's do it was just ended up being such a beautiful blessing, because we started the show, and we've been doing it for four years.

[6:52] JJ: Wow.

[6:54] Tara Llewellyn: And we're on our fifth season. And it has opened up so many opportunities for the two of us. And has, you know, if you listen to the podcast, you're really listening to Haley and I become friends, which I think is really special and something that you can't really replicate, and something that you don't get often with someone who ends up becoming one of your best friends.

[7:10] JJ: That's amazing.

[7:10] Tara Llewellyn: So we talked about Gilmore Girls in a way that I think is very different than a lot of the shows that are out there. We talk about it from the stance of like storytelling, plot characters, themes, tropes, parallels, because I think that oftentimes with podcasts that talk about the film medium, the television medium in the books, you're doing more of a recap than you are doing a discussion.

[7:33] JJ: Right.

[7:33] Tara Llewellyn: And so for us, we wanted to kind of flip the recap model on its ear and talk about the show the way that people who have been watching the show for over 20 years, because Gilmore Girls has a very, very ravenous fan base. Talk about this show. And that is debating over the boyfriends. Who was the best? Who was the worst? Who was the most toxic? Who should she have ended up with? Like, it's all of those little things in the way that the writing is so dense and gives you an opportunity to pull everything apart. We wanted to talk about the show that way. So that is, yeah, it's been a lot of fun.

[8:01] JJ: Yeah. You ladies definitely found your niche in terms of how you approach the show and how you approach talking about it for sure.

[8:11] Tara Llewellyn: Just listening to the few that I have and then the angles that you're taking, you got different teams for different boyfriends that Rory had and like people are picking sides. It's a whole thing.

[8:22] JJ: It really is.

[8:22] Tara Llewellyn: And the fan base truly is very deep. And we're really grateful to have built such a community through our podcast and connect with other people. And the timing of it, too. I feel like the from the time you started, sort of as you're growing your podcast, it sort of hit at a time when even the show itself is now being revisited because it was like 25 year anniversary or something.

[8:44] JJ: Right.

[8:44] Tara Llewellyn: So you kind of were on that growth at the same time, which has allowed you to experience some really cool opportunities.

[8:49] JJ: Absolutely.

[8:50] Tara Llewellyn: Yeah. We really, we really struck at the right time, especially just for the podcasting industry. It's you know, it can be so saturated. And we were really lucky that we kind of hit right at the time when podcasting, you know, we were coming out of the pandemic. People were listening to a lot of content and they still are. But you know, it was just one of those things where we just ended up striking at the right time for people being in that pocket of wanting to rewatch their favorite comfort show because the world felt a little and still feels a little unpredictable, scary. And so what better medium to talk about your favorite comfort show and rewatch it with your friends, even if they're friends you met on the Internet, but via a Gilmore Girls podcast. So yeah, yeah, we just celebrated 25 years.

[9:33] JJ: That's amazing.

[56:16] JJ Gonzalez: Now, I think he only missed one question.

[56:19] JJ Gonzalez: Mission to get me. And so now my bar is like, well, I didn't get all of them right, but I still got 12 right. And then it got to like, well, I got 10. I hit double figures. Today, it was really like, I got 50%. I got eight.

[56:35] JJ Gonzalez: You had three Gilmore Girls questions in there. And I almost got one of them.

[56:38] Tara Llewellyn: And you almost got one of them.

[56:40] JJ Gonzalez: You almost did.

[56:41] JJ Gonzalez: I should get some creative points for Georgina, but that's OK.

[56:45] Tara Llewellyn: I think Georgina was very creative.
